In photography, as in other art forms and creative fields, there are themes universal for all ages and generations. It's no accident that the theme of the seasons has been embodied in great a variety of ways, as in the musical works of celebrated composers, for example.
St. Petersburg's Tauride Gardens inspired Alexander Bartov to create a new series of works on the seasonal theme. Using the photographic technique of multiple exposure, the artist arrived at a new artistic vision. He achieved a music-like harmony of color and softness in elaborately finished works filled with color and atmosphere that reveal the landscape in all its splendor. Bartov has not only captured moments of different seasons but achieved an imagery of new polyphonic richness that reminds us both of the fleeting transience of the seasons and of eternity's boundlessness.
